We are recognized for our tailored, highly successful approach to publicity, marketing, and brand development. With over 20 years of experience working with major design, shelter, and lifestyle brands, #1 New York Times bestselling authors, and some of the country’s biggest publishers.

Our boutique philosophy means that every campaign we create is different from the last. And for each of our projects, we tap into our extensive network of media contacts, creatively bridging the gap between old and new media, while developing enduring relationships and lasting influence for our clients.

Sarah Burningham

In today’s rapidly changing media landscape, smart publicity involves a thoughtful and creative approach, longstanding connections, and the rare ability to craft memorable, meaningful — and effective — campaigns.

Little Bird Publicity founder Sarah Burningham has worked in publicity and publishing for over 20 years and represented some of the best architects and designers in the world, including Gil Schafer, Peter Pennoyer, Williams Lawrence, Ferguson & Shamamian Architects, Tammy Connor Interior Design, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, and Ben Pentreath.

She also worked with several New York Times and #1 bestselling authors, including Ralph Nader, 50 Cent, Isabella Rossellini, William F. Buckley, Jr., Robyn Carr, and others.

Before starting Little Bird in 2009, Sarah ran a publicity and marketing department at HarperCollins and held director-level positions at William Morrow, Regan, Miramax, Weinstein Books, Workman and Gibbs Smith. She is also the author of numerous books and has been interviewed by the Today Show, CBS News, ABC News, NPR, The Wall Street Journal and Newsweek. She is a member of the  Design Leadership Network, the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, Women’s Media Group, and the National League of American PEN Women.

Grant Burningham

As an editor at major news organizations for more than twenty years, I understand what makes an engaging story and how to show our clients’ work that will expand their reputations and grab valuable media attention.

Grant Burningham has worked across media in radio, podcasts, daily newspapers and glossy magazines. He has worked as an editor at The New York Times, Newsweek and Yahoo News, where he planned coverage around elections and breaking news. He’s worked on audience and building digital strategies. Most recently, he was Managing Editor at The Salt Lake Tribune.

He also ran a communications department at the University of California, San Francisco, produced podcasts for Verizon and Yahoo, and written for the BBC, Time Magazine, Quartz and The International Herald Tribune.

As Head of Content and Operations, Grant leverages his 20 years of experience to craft and tell stories about our clients, build strategies around media outreach and social media, and provide an editor’s touch to websites and book copy.

Just as our prestigious architecture, design, and lifestyle clients do with their own projects, we approach each of our projects with a fresh eye, grounded in our years of experience and strong industry connections. We collaborate closely with only a select number of clients at a time, allowing us the focus to create and execute imaginative, comprehensive campaigns. We dig deeper than current trends to generate significant, tangible results and build lasting, timeless reputations.

— On Little Bird —

“Nowadays it seems harder and harder to find a publicist who is not more invested in their own PR than in their actual clients, but that isn't the case with Sarah Burningham. She is truly all about you and for that alone I could not love her more. I am forever grateful for her professionalism, her impeccable attention to detail, and her ability to coordinate, organize, cajole and promote and that’s just the beginning! She never drops the ball and that’s so important in her line of work. I wouldn’t use anyone else.”

Brian McCarthy, Brian J. McCarthy Interior Design

“Sarah is a breath of fresh air in the world of publicity. She actually does what she says she is going to do…and more! We never worried about anything when Sarah was in charge. The best part? Sarah is down to earth, funny, and a pleasure to work with. Our search for the perfect publicist is over! We'll never use anyone else.”

Brooke Giannetti and Steve Giannetti, Giannetti Home

“Sarah Burningham has proved to be a highly effective and essential asset for our firm for both our architecture and book publications. Sarah commands the respect of the press and everyone — both in our office and outside — find that her intelligence and grace make her a delight to work with.”

Peter Pennoyer, Peter Pennoyer Architects

“Working with Sarah is like having a good friend who also happens to be your biggest cheerleader and defender. I was so impressed with her ability to juggle so many different requests at once and to make sure they all went smoothly and according to plan. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for help with public relations or press strategy.”
